Mac mini 2011 Pink stripes over boot screen

Issue: Computer crashed while switching a YouTube video to full screen mode.

Whenever I try to boot the computer, there are pink stripes over the boot screen. The boot screen also now has a spinning wheel and a progress bar. After the bar finishes loading, the computer will either move on to a full gray screen, or it will turn off.

Steps taken: PRAM reset - no change

Smc reset - no change

Did a hardware test, computer reported no issues

I left the computer unplugged overnight, removed all cables (Apple usb keyboard and Apple hdmi->dvi for monitor). When I turned it on, the pink lines were gone initially, but came back slowly as the computer continued to boot.

Any help would of course be greatly appreciated. I can post pictures if needed

Mac mini (Mid 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), i7 processor, 16 gb ram
