iPad battery drains overnight

What am I doing wrong. The I pad is fully charged. I use up maybe 5% of the battery. I shut the case. I don't use it for over 24 hours and when I open the case the battery is drained completely. Do I have to shut the I pad off every night? Did I leave some web page open?

Any help would be appreciated.

Look at the notifications. There's a ton of them defaulted to on that you may not need.

Look at background app updates and background app refresh, They can also affect the battery.

See if your e-mail is set to push. Push means your device reaches out every so often to get mail. Fetch means that you manually get it.

Good luck.

You might also close down apps that you don't need. I always shut down apps I'm not using, if not for battery just to free up system resources for stuff I do want.

Double tap the home button. You'll see the app icons and a preview screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen, then single tap the home button or tap on the home screen preview to exit the mode.
