Hi, I accidentally installed mplayerx on my macbook, and even after uninstalling it, Google chrome now bugs and uses Bing...

If the Library folders are actually named "Bibliothèque" on a French system, then my Adware Removal Tool will not be able to remove any of the items found in the Library folders. It requires being able to build the paths to these files, which requires knowing the full names of all the folders in the path. If those folders have different names on non-English systems, that's something it won't be able to handle.

Unfortunately, since I don't have any non-English systems and don't speak any languages other than English fluently, creating localized versions of this tool is going to be beyond my capabilities.

What is Chrome's 'homepage' set to ?. It sounds as if you have no problems except that a new tab/window in Chrome opens with a conduit URL which says 'results by bing'. Change that homepage to something you want instead.

I don't think that that will change the names of those folders.

Try this: open the Terminal app (search for it using the magnifying glass icon in the menu bar if you don't know where it is), then paste in the following command:

ls -al ~

Then paste the output from the Terminal window into a message here.
