my phone has a ghost background. help. thanks

What do you mean by ghost background? You mean the colors are inverted? Try triple clicking the home button. If that doesn't work go to Settings > General > Acessibility > Invert Colors OFF.

Does the ghost image have a different time stamp? Check Settings > Wallpaper & Brightness and see if a screenshot has been selected as your desktop and/or screensaver.
