Cannot add my Lexmark printer X7675 wireless printer to my printer list on my Macbook

I have followed all the Software Update instructions and loaded the latest software for my Lexmark printer. I have also reset the printing device as per Apple's instructions and completely removed all printers & settings from my Macbook. I have then successfully added the Lexmark printer X7675 using the Wireless software to my wireless network that my Macbook Pro is on. However, the Printing and Scanner panel will still not let me add this printer! But, it adds it automatically, if I plug it into my Macbook with a USB lead connected to the printer.

Can anyone offer me any advice please, as I think I have come to the end of the line with this? Thank you. Matt

First off, your signature is incorrect if all you have is a MacBook Pro. Mac OS 9.2.x refers to the operating system that was last installed on 2005 Macs and earlier. Mac OS X 10.9 is the 2013 and later operating system.

You have these options for wireless printing

1. Configure the printer for wireless directly:

which is the wireless printer setup driver.

2. Connect your printer directly to the WiFi router that gives you internet access and turn on its printer sharing.

3. Use a central computer near the printer and turn on its printer sharing after connecting the computer to the printer.

Whatever you do, do not use 802.11b or anything other than WPA2 encryption for wireless.
