Using Samsung D600 as gprs modem on MACBook Pro

Currently Using Both Mac Book Pro and power book G4 and have managed to connect the G4 successfully and have been able to check emails etc, but on Mac Book Pro it will connect to the server but does not go past authentication, both machines are using 10.4.7, the only differance i can see is that the G4 is using a bluetooth doggle, should this make any difference. Both machines have exactly the same settings.
