Mac Pro Memory Configuration

Hi,

You'll find here-under two links about a Mac Pro memory spreadsheet.

It's the same spreadsheet on both links, only the presentation is different.

It was very tough for excel to do the following one with 1024 MB Ram only.

I did order another two 512 MB, I believe that 4 Go could be a good compromise for me.

Enjoy,

"Is the chart main intention to show all the possible ways of achieving a given RAM total, or is it also showing which are preferred ways of doing it?
EG is the 'a' column preferable to the 'b' column?"

The chart is showing the best config for any given RAM situation. I would also say the "ideal" situation is 8D. That would give the maximum (currently), amount of RAM with the max RAM performance.

Ini order to maximize RAM performance, use 4 sticks - either 1GB or 2GB modules in the first two slots in each riser.

(I think I'm finally getting a handle on this Mac Pro RAM business!) 😉
