Suggestions for ear/headphones

I just got my Nano and the Nike + system. The one problem I am having is with the ear buds that came with the Nano. No matter what I try, they keep falling out. Any suggestions for ear phones or headphones that work well for a runner?

Thanks!
Scott

I personally use the Sennheiser OMX-70 and have enjoyed using them so far. Thankfully they fit my ears and I don't have any problems with them popping out at all.

The sound quality is not what I expected from Sennheiser as the bass seems to be slightly lacking. Never the less I'm out to be running and as long as I can hear my tunes and not have to worry about the earbuds popping out.

If you're an audiophile but want a durable set of headphones on a limited budget, I strongly recommend the Koss Porta Pro.

I don't think you can get a better sounding headphone for less than $50 (I paid <$40 for mine). Read any review, you'll see that I'm not the only one who loves these. They're also designed to be adjustable and thus are extremely comfortable. Another nice feature is that they collapse into a ball, making them easy to travel with.

I would describe the sound output from these phones as being "accurate". Accuracy isn't something that everyone wants. Some people want artificially over-blown bass, which these don't provide. If you like hearing music the way it was intended to sound, you'll like these.

I wouldn't recommend spending more money to get workout headphones that are higher quality than these. Unless you're using canal phones, you won't hear the improvement while you're running anyway.

The Etymotic Research earbuds are the best there is.
Don't let anyone tell you different.

I completely agree. The sound is spectacular, if you have the money. The noise isolation is amazing, I use them on the plane and it's like stepping into a soundproof vault. It should be noted that these headphones are vey uncomfortable for some people, because they are inserted into your ear canal. Personally I find the slight irritation to be outweighed by the superb audio and amazing noise isolation.

I am going to add and agree with most replies here. I have the Etymotic ER-6i's for my nano. I bought them new on Amazon from the new and used offering to my front door 85$. These are amazing. The sound quality is awesome and they are worth every penny. I went through 3 pairs of the ipod headphones due to listening and sweating at the gym...sweat would get in my ear and soak the earbuds...over time no more sound. Now I am not crazy for sound isolation headphones but now I can mow the lawn and listen to my music. They are not big on bass if you are a basshead. They take some getting used to ...you really have to jam these baby's in for them to work properly. If you really love music get a set!
