Compaq PDA gift--use with Mac?

I've never tried it, but a Google search turns up this app that might fit the bill.

there a way to make it work with my Powerbook or

You could use it with your mac but you need to buy the software to sync your pda with os x. Here is one good application I usually suggest to my cust who used windows mobile or pocket pc:
