I have lost the ability to open a new finder window using the keyboard command: option command spacebar
This is a very useful command when you are using an application and you want to navigate to a specific file
The only alternative to this was alt tab to Finder then command N to open a window.
Where can I reset this command?

Works for me. Finder has to be in focus for it to work.
Eh no, thats the whole point of my querie, to get the short cut to work as it did before to open finder when any application is open.
As I mention in my post, I can use command N to open a window when in Finder.
Thanks axeman. I entered the short cut but no response. I have entered numerous alternative key combinations in case that helped but a new finder window is still elusive for me.
Strangely, when I am in Finder this shortcut now opens a finder window but nothing happens when I am in any other application.
Disable the shortcut for Spotlight and add a new shortcut for Finder.
System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Spotlight > uncheck Show Spotlight Window
then click App Shotcuts > + > Select Finder from the dropdown > for Menu Title enter New Finder Window and Option-Command-Space for the shortcut
The ⌘-N sequence will open a new Finder window each time it is pressed providing one already has Finder pointer focus.
On my new MBA, ⌥+⌘+Spacebar opens a new Finder window without Finder pointer focus. This is the default behavior for Spotlight window keyboard shortcut in System Preferences > Spotlight.
