blue "dot" on screen !!! AppleCare???

Hey,
I just recognized that since today there is a little blue dot on the 15,4 screen of my 3 week old MBP!!!

You don't really see it when the backgroundcolor is light, but when it's gettin' darker or black it really takes your view on it....

I tried to restart the machine so that the screen could cool down but nothing helped - it is still there.

It is really annoying because when you want to do some creative work and you move things on the screen the blue dot is there all the time.....

Now my question is: Does anybody know this prob and the most important question is if AppleCare will take care off..!!??

I don't wanna buy a new screen!!! but this dot has to go away!!!

Thakns

Thanks for the good idea, but it didn't solved
it....:(

I'll try to givt it back tomorrow, maybe they will
take care of

Hope you get it resolved....but just so you're not overly disappointed if you don't, Apple generally won't replace a notebook unless there is a minimum number of pixel anomolies. (Around six or so....the actual number is not published) So good luck, but don't be too surpirsed if they say no.

My 12" PB came with a stuck blue pixel as well. You can only see it on a dark/black background, which means I don't see it 99.99% of the time. Sure it bothered me initially, but I got over it pretty quickly.

Hey,

This morning i woke up and checked if the blue pixel is maybe gone----Nope!

So i decided to go to the Apple-Shop and show them the screen....

The Guy took it to the technical-workers and came back after 5 minutes and said that they couldn't find any damaged pixels.....O|O !!!!!

I thought it is one of these: Sorry we can't find anything so that's not a AppleCare thing....

But i took a look at the screen and the damaged pixel was totally fine again!!! They said they did nothing and so i was really surprised...

I hope it stays working now!!!!

But is it possible that pixels are just not working for a short period???

The Aplle Guys gave me a prog called PixelCheck so i can easily check for damaged pixels....

Thanks so far....

Is it an aqua blob ?
Coz sounds like you have activated a hidden feature called the Expose Blob.
Do you have a maintenance programme such as Onyx or Cocktail installed?
Or have you accidentally entered the command in terminal ?
To get rid of it i suggest downloading Onyx from this link
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11582
This is a very useful maintenance programme and you can even switch on the various OSX hidden files modify/speed up safari add the debug menu in safari which allows you to do a number of thing like changing the user agent to show the browser as a Windows IE6 version for those poorly writen sites.
