bluetooth can find samsung sound bar but cannot keep the contact iPhone works well with s sound bar

Have the same issue with a MacBookPro8,1 trying to keep Bluetooth connection to Samsung HW-F550 sound bar. Right after the initial pairing, it will connect for only one second and then it immediately drops the Bluetooth connection.

Bluetooth should be able to connect and pair without issue from the Macbook devices but apparently Apple has some strange Bluetooth settings in their laptops.

Same issue here except I can't connect with MBP. Been looking around quite a bit, even tried using a USB Bluetooth dongle (iogearGBU521) but the problem remains. I see it's been a while since you posted this markofromespoo, have you found a solution to this since?

I know it's not the end of the world, but it is a first world problem that is driving me nuts!

Same here I'm using a Samsung HW-H550 Sound Bar - Connect's with iPhone/iPad on IOS 7.1.1 on my Mac Book Pro Retina OS X 10.9.3. Having no joy even went down the root of deleting the Bluetooth Pref file didn't work either.

I am having the same exact issue. Computer will connect and then immediately drop the connection. The Samsung soundbar has no issues connecting to anything. I'd like to be able to use the laptop to stream music sometimes vs. always having to go the iPad/iphone route.

I also have the same problem. I really wish I could use the blue tooth on my MacBook Pro instead of having to always listen to music through my iPhone connected with BlueTooth to the soundbar.

Same issue. I can connect to the Soundbar and play music through my iPhone. And, I can pair the Soundbar with my Mac Pro, but as soon as I connect, it immediately disconnects. Frustrating.

I know its not ideal. Plug this into the sound bar and connect to the Logitech with your macbook.

Same issue with my MBP and HW-H550 - connects/pairs, but promptly disconnects. Spoke with Samsung chat, who (rightly, in my opinion) suggested that since my iPhone 5 can connect without issue, the problem most likely sits with the MacBook. Spoke with Apple chat and walked through troubleshooting steps they suggested with no success (reset the System Management Controller, reset the PRAM, attempt to connect in Safe Mode, attempt to connect under a different user profile). I also unsuccessfully attempted to connect with an older (~5 years) MacBook.

Hi guys, I have the same problem as well. I try to connect my Hw-h551 samsung sound bar with my MacBook Pro Mid 2010 OS X 10.9.5 (13F34).

The pairing looks ok but when I try to connect, it disconnect after 1sec...

Apple could you please help?

you can delete the number 40 and add any number between 40-60 (trial and error)

same problem with same device (samsung bar). I tried with iphone, and i didn't find any problem. however, i tried with macbook, i happened the same, it connects and disconnects.

Unfortunately, I've worked with new Yosemite OS, and happens the same issue.

And i also tried Celina77 trick, and it doesn't work...

Anybody have any luck yet with the Yosemite? I have the exact same issue as all of the above. Becoming increasingly disenchanted with Apple in general. A response from someone with Apple support would be much appreciated.

Okay just figured out the problem, create a new administrator user, just place test for all info, including password and hint, then goto login options make sure fast user switching is enabled, then create user, skip the iCloud sign in and goto bluetooth settings on the new user and try and pair, it should work, then you can return to your original user, and the bar will show up and work flawlessly

i too was having this same issue but now i see it is fixed. It seems there was a bluetooth issue with OS X that i also noticed as airdrop was not functioning, not that OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 has been released my sound bar and other non compatible bluetooth functions are working properly! i am using a mid 2011 macbook air and will test my 2011 iMac later.

Please go to samsung support website for those particular soundbar. Please Upgrade the Firmware. I own Samsung Soundbar HW-H551. Macbook Pro Mid 2015 before have BT connect disconnect problem. After Upgrade to latest firmware ver. 1007.5 ..Now all working .. 🙂
