Help! my mac battery health is now 85% i'm now on 72 cycles, is that normal?

hi everyone, i'm a user of a macbook pro mid 2012, i'm just buy my mac about 4 months ago,

but in battery coconut it shows that my mac has been already 10 months age,

when I open my coconut battery today, it shows my battery health is on 85%,

it's now 72 cycles, is that normal? will apple guarante replace my battery if it's getting worse?


please help me thanks,

If you have put 74 cycles on in four months, your battery is not suffering a lack of use.


If you bought a 2012 MBP four months ago, it must be a refurb--mine is, bought 11 months ago. As Apple has a lot of 13-inch 2012 non-retina models still in stock, the battery was obviously made six months before you bought the computer. Not an issue unless the computer showed up with more than 2-4 cycles on the battery.


Sometimes an SMC reset makes the battery report properly if you are seeing a spurious reading rather than a degraded battery:


Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own


You are still in warranty. If you are concerned and an SMC reset does not get you going again, by all means take it to Apple for evaluation. We are not Apple agents or employees so can't say what their policy will be, so you need to ask them.
