Sharing a tricky issue I faced while playing h264 mp4 using jwplayer on iPAD Safari and the solution .

Scenario :

Error while loading .mp4 h.264 encoded video using jwplayer based web page in iPad safari ( but working in iPad chrome Windows – IE 9 above , Chrome , Firefox and Safari.)

Observed that the iPAD Safari was in private browsing mode and as the video file is stored in a secured server (ADFS authenticated) , jwplayer was throwing error “The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported

This issue fooled me for a few days where I checked the MIME list ,re converted the video using OGG Converter etc and found tricky.

Solution :

Change the iPAD Safari browser from private to non-private. Once you switch off the private browsing, the video will play smooth on jwplayer.
