Hi
I'm selling my Late 2009 IMAC 27 inches to private person. Before i do that i want to wipe out everything from my computer and here is a question. Last yeat i have updated to the snow leopard and paid for it. Will i loose this if i wipe the computer out? Is there a way to wipe it out certain things?

If you erase and reinstall from the Snow Leopard disk, you'll remove all the data and then reinstall Snow Leopard.

If you're selling, I'd skip everything after step 2, give them the computer ready to go through the setup assistant (same state as when you bought it) and include the software install disk that came with the computer so they can install iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand. I'd also suggest they run software update since the disk probably isn't on 10.6.8, but a previous version (probably 10.6.3 IIRC).
Any chance that you aslo know if iback up my files on the time machine will that include my photos? I have about 19K of photos and thinking about buying the external hardrive, but if this would back it up then i would skip it?

If the pictures are saved on your computer, Time Machine will back it up! Time Machine will back up everything on your system unless you go through and specifically tell it not to.

I would want and have two backups of my data, so I would get the extra drive for what they cost.
