I want to make a cookbook of recipes. Have you done this? How does one do this without an App to purchase?

The only wire bound product I see available is for 13 x 9 Calendars.
Soft cover books look to be just glue bound.
For just yourself or to eventually sell to others as a published book?
Your OS X system has to be OS X 10.7.4 or greater to use iBooks Author.
His profile says he is using Mavericks, which is now OS X 10.9.3
Also,
iBooks Author is for creating digital, electronic books and not printed books.
So, you need to get back to us and explain to us more fully what you want to accomplish.

You might try looking at a Kinko's or something like that. I'm not sure what quality you can get from something like that, but it may be the only way you can print such a small quantity.
Will this cookbook have pictures or just the text for the recipe?

I was thinking of the medium (6" x 8") wire bound and softcover books which are $10 each for the minimum 20 page book plus $0.49 per extra page.
