How do I select all notes to the left/right of a note in the Piano Roll? I used to see that option in Logic 8 ...

Hello,

I somewhat recently upgraded from Logic Pro 8. I can't seem to find the key command, let alone the drop down menu option, to select all previous notes when I select any given note in the piano roll. Logic 8 used to have this option, which was great for certain editing tasks. Is what I am looking for merely renamed in Logic Pro X, or was this removed from Logic? Thank you!

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), 12 gigs of RAM

In LPX you can now do the following....

Select note then...

Shift f to select all notes following note selected....

Shift i to invert selection... to then select all notes before note selected..

There is no direct key command for selecting notes before note selected that i am aware of these days... so you have to select all following notes and then invert selection...

Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly how the software worded it, and more embarrassingly, I don't remember the key command, haha. That was one of the reasons I was looking in the Logic Pro x Key Commands window; I wanted to get reacquainted with the command. When I couldn't find it, I went looking around the piano roll menus but I couldn't find anything about it there either. I figured it would be in the 'select' sub menu, but I didn't see it.

This was one of the Logic 8 key commands that I didn't use often enough to remember it by heart, so I would refresh my memory by selecting it in a drop down menu and then use the key command for a while before eventually forgetting it again.

I don't have easy access to Logic 8 anymore, or else I'd check. I swear it existed! Haha.

Btw.. you might find this website very useful for learning/finding out the new key commands in LPX (or LP9 for that matter..You can choose that option too..at the top of the screen..)

You can also select the type of keyboard you have... as there are differences when you have the wired keypad version connected to your Mac compared to the wireless version....
