Hello man2r,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

To enable subtitles in QuickTime simply do the following:

If a movie has subtitles, QuickTime Player can display them while the movie is playing.

Open and play movies in QuickTime Player

In QuickTime Player, choose View > Subtitles, and then choose a language.

If the movie doesn’t have subtitles in a particular language, you can’t choose that language from the submenu. Some movies have a “text track” instead of subtitles. QuickTime Player shows the text track if it’s present, but allows you to change languages only when the movie has subtitles in standard format.

QuickTime Player 10.x: View movie subtitles

QuickTime itself does not support .SRT subtitle files. It is possible to get QuickTime Player 7 to use these but only if you also install some software called Perian.

See http://perian.org

Perian is discontinued but still works with QuickTime Player 7, it does not work with QuickTime X or 10. You can get QuickTime Player 7 and it still works even in Mavericks.

Another option would be to use the free VLC software which does support .SRT files
