Bought a MacBook Air Mid 2014 but system says it's Mid 2013

I bought a new customized Macbook Air (mid 2014) but when I look the hardware up in the system it says it is mid 2013. How do I ensure it is really the Mid 2014 version? And how do I update the system so it displays the rightmodel?

See the screenshot of the system info in attachment.

If you ask for the "System Report", what does it say under Hardware, "Model Identifier"?

Like the other guys I bought one last month and received the mid 2013 i7 8g instead of expecting a "2014" model. Its nonexistent because they only upgraded the base model which is the i5 1.4 but if you get the configured ones you'll get the mid 2013.Simple as that.

Now I had 2 options, get a refund or get something up to 70dollars online free of charge(sort of appeasement). I opted for the latter with a USB Superdrive.

It was misleading for Apple NOT to clearly state what they are selling. They should at least give you a warning so FOR ALL FOLKS out there who will buy an i7 or probably a configured unit please BE AWARE.

The sales model number for the Early-2014 would have a letter B after it, the Mid-2013

reference number would have an A. So that part, if you are reading ahead of impulse

buying, can save you any stress from later buyer remorse over haste or complacence.

There is nothing lacking or non-standard in a system that has worked for Apple and

for most of the buying public who likes to learn and prefers to read ahead for facts.

This system has been a standardized for awhile. The facts are available, & published.

For those worried about somehow feeling slighted by their own lack of attention to

detail, just don't tell your impressionable friends that you messed up; blame Apple.

Good luck... by foot or horseback! 😐

Yeah, i called this number 133622 followed the prompts and got to talked to one of the support tech and explain the issue. Got transferred to a team leader and he said this is not the 1st time hed received this complain so he offered me some appeasement by getting something in the apple store online worth 70bucks or a refund of the unit.

Im assuming sInce he already knew about this issue and receiving a lot of complains so thats why they came up with this idea of giving a free merchandise. Just stand your ground because you know youre right. Goodluck mate!

Recently i call to apple support in US, and after i wait a lot of time, they said there is nothing they can do for me. They said that i could go to a retail store in my country and try to exchange, but they could not give any assurance. In a couple months i will go back to us, thought of take him (mba) with me and go to the store, but im afraid that they don't exchange for me. I am very disappointed with Apple..
