icloud activation

my problem is not a new one. i bought a ipad mini private and after i tried to install it, it asked for the apple-id and the password - not a new one, but the one of the original owner. he deletet his files in front of my eyes, but he did it not with itunes - so the "find my iphone"-function was/is still active.

trouble is, that after this, he wont answer my calls, my mobile-messages and apple wont help me either, even if this all was completely legal and the ipad now is mine and registered in my account - but this doesnt do anything to make it work for me. as you know: only the original user can delete the icloud-account but this one - for some reason rational or not - will definetely not do it and apple leaves me alone with this.

iam not asking for hints like doing something illegal to hack this ipad or else - anyway, if there is a legal way somehow to solve this problem: please! tell me - but iam asking you for hints in this direction:

- do you know someone at apple which i can talk to? send an email to? someone who cares? someone who can change this stupid politics? not the support. the support is just following rules and the rules must not be broken.

i understand completely the sense of the politics behind the option "find my iphone" - but in individual cases there must be something, that can be done.

who can i talk to?

please help.

thank you.

The problem is, you have no real proof of any kind that you didn't steal the iPad. I'm sure you didn't, because this kind of thing happens all the time, but you have to look at it from Apple's point of view. They've gotten in trouble in the past by having their techs allow hackers to talk them into giving access to accounts they shouldn't have access to. As a result, they've arranged things so that's no longer even possible.

In addition, you really don't know that the iPad isn't stolen. You only have the word of a guy you don't know, who is now not responding to your inquiries. That's suspicious behavior. In fact, that's the typical pattern of behavior of someone selling a stolen iOS device.

My advice would be to report this to the police. Tell them you think that you may have been sold a stolen iPad, and give them all the information you have on the seller.

Hello, I'm with te same issue.

I've bought an iPhone 4 two weeks ago on a second hand shop. It was really cheep because they sold it with broken screen & they said it was partly operating, just as iPod.

I've asked them if they control the devices what they are selling and they said yes, it is controlled with police data bases and the iPhone was'nt reported as stoled. So I bought it thinking that I could change the screen & figuring that I would be able to restore the SO.

I took the iPhone to repair, paying for a new screen and when I came back, the man who repaird it told me that the iPhone was reported in a black list. I said that's not possible because I bought it on a shop.

When I went home and plug it to iTunes I saw a message with a phone number telling that the iPhone was lost. I get angry with the shop & inmediatly called to the owner of the phone. He explains me that he lost it 1 month ago in holydays and i told him that I will send to him. Then he saids that it was not necessary ,cause he bought an iPhone 5 and told me to keep the phone.

And what about activation? the owner saids that he will delete it from icloud but it's passed 2 weeks and nothing hapens, so i'm stocked with iPhone without phone: just an "i"

i understand apples point of view comletely. but i would offer my complete privacy in exchange, so that they could be safe for sure. i dont wont access to any account, i just want apple to see what i want to offer to release the ipad - because i know what problems they´ve had and have. the support told me, that the ipad isnt a stolen one. it´s even registered on me by apple support - but i cant get it working, because i cant get rid of this old apple-id. so what?

i understand a lot of points of views, but as i can see - now one shares mine.

your advice to go to the police is good, i tried - know what? first one said - no interest. second one said: "**** apple! we would have a lot of work, if we would work on cases like yours." - in these words. later, apple support answered, that they know problems like this, specially here in berlin - and asked me to lie on the policeman, say the ipad is stolen, so that i could enter - and them tell´em, that the case differs.

now what?

anyway - thank you for your advice!
