Sandra, when you go to create a memory, a map will pop up. If you tap on the X (close) in the corner, the map will go away, and your memory WON'T be linked to that address. I haven't been using Tru-Link, but since the upgrade to Tru-Link, I'm giving it another try.
In the SoundScape screen, you should consider that to be "fine tuning" for your current setting. Use the iOS controls (the ones you get with a triple-click) to get more range, then you can make fine adjustments with SoundScape.
Yes I did try the paring again. Thanks but it didn't make a difference.
Thank you!
In the Trunlink app there is a Trulink setting. I know that if I select that and I'm in a car it will automatically go to car when I'm going over 10 mph. What else does it do if you don't geotag locations... anything? Right now I mostly leave mine on normal so I may not be getting the most benefit from all the settings. I'm still learning though.
Car mode does a very good job of cutting back frequencies associated with tire and engine noise. It does affect the audio from car stereo, though.
Best thing to do is try it manually while driving or riding in a vehicle....it's a noticeable change
This is a great forum. Thanks for all the input. Here's mine.
I auto download app updates so was not aware until seeing a post on the forum of an update.
I tried figuring the app out on my own and had considerable problems figuring out what to do with it. I went to starkey.com and searched for Trulink instructions. The instructions appeared to be updated but once I arrived at instructions for settings I realized it had not been completely update so I ended up calling. Got dropped three times before actually talking to anyone.
The tech person was helpful.
I find the car setting helpful. I got to try it yesterday as it was pouring rain and I was in my cage instead of on my motorcycle. (Can't use HAs on motorcycle because my helmet drags them off so I have a special sound system that works there.
I used Soundsource to create a few memory settings. One for the church's sanctuary for most everything but the senior pastor who seems to think microphones are made for mumbling. I had to create a separate setting for him.
I affirm the encouragement to talk to your audiologist about anything that is not working well. I did and it improved everything:
1. I found myself having to increase the volume everywhere to hear well but that created the whisper effect on sibilants. He made adjustments and now I can hear far better. Went to theater yesterday and had no problem hearing. Actually listened to TV yesterday and didn't have to turn it up very high.
2. For streaming, I found the volume of the speaker way to quiet. I asked him to give me more volume and turn of mikes when streaming. He did and for the first time in ages, I was able to listen to podcasts and audiobooks on the airplane.
One thing I keep experiencing is my iPad hijacking my HAs. I need to use BT on my iPad for my keyboard but have no need to stream to my hearing aides. I tell it to forget the device, but somehow it gets it back. Even when BT is off it seems to know there are hearing aids and tells me I need to turn on BT. There ought to be a way to tell the ipad to forget them until I ask it to pair with them.
Parrish - If you have Handoff enabled, I think that might be what the iPad is doing. I don't use the handoff feature and I don't have an iPad, but it might be worth looking into.
There is lot of problem in connectivity with car system, as soon as I have installed OS8. The contact do not show up. The phone does not connect for few mts. It drops the connection. Please let me know how to resolve this. Apple must test their product before. Please great update for this problem.
Nor much to go on but make sure you have upgraded your phone's iOS to 8.1.1. This should take care of most of the issues if I understand them correctly.
This does not resolve the problem the connectivity via bluetooth to car

SSorry, can't help you with this. You will need to contact Apple Or check and see if there is a thread that deals with Bluetooth connectivity.
Still have issues connecting most mornings.
I have just upgraded to a 6 Plus from a 5S, and I am having problems connecting in the morning. I have to shut BT off, then turn it back on and this seems to get everything reconnected. I never had this issue with the 5S.
I have the 5s and I connected at the audiologist's office when I picked them up and have never had to pair them again. That's strange about the 6 since it's running the same version of software.
Since upgrading to iOS 8.1.1, these problems have gone away for me. Mine connect straightaway. Your problem isn't pairing, but connecting. Sounds like your phone just wants a cheery "Good morning!" before blinking awake. You might try turning Bluetooth off when you go to bed, then turn it back on in the morning.
I haven't had many issues since iOS 8.1.1. I just take them off at night and they usually connect on their own within a couple of minutes in the morning once I turn them on. I don't have to turn BT off or anything. I used to make a point of sitting there, waiting for it to connect and make sure it was working before I did anything else, on occasion it may seem like it's taking awhile. I changed my morning routine so the Halo's aren't the last thing I put on before heading out the door. By the time I get to the car they are connected. The only thing I have to make a point of doing different is clicking the trulink app to get that started. Hope that helps.
