You may try & see if function of the camera may be restored via a reset.


Read through the article(s), & try actual resets at least once; if the other

troubleshooting ideas fail to change the situation before SMC/PMU reset.


If your iMac is not an older PPC G4/G5 model, use the Intel reset link.

Also it may be of interest to see if this other item could help resolve the issue.

If nothing else, it would be a matter of troubleshooting. Do this reset at least

twice; and let the startup sound chime three times before releasing the keys

you are to hold down immediately from startup.
