Dog Washing

Talked to a long time mac user today and he insisted there is a sample dog washing video on my imac/imovie that I could experiment with and be able to see what the finished product would look like starting with quality video from DV tape. I can't find it--help!

iMovie 2(?) shipped with a "Dog Washing" movie, an iMovie tutorial. It might have been for iMovie 2 running in Classic?

The friend that told me to look for them jumped ship to use Premier some time ago, and evidently wasn't aware the dog wash was no longer included. He related that these clips were some type of inside joke for Apple users???

No. I don't think that was the reason.

I think they were included to help showcase iMovie's capabilities. Remember, this was a time when fewer people had miniDV cameras and those that did weren't accustomed to editing video on a computer.

Likewise, the first Mac I bought that had iTunes pre-installed also came with a sample music library. Again, I think to show people what iTunes was all about.

the only "inside" joke including the dogwash video I know is Steve Job's .mac homepage, where your find the famous video plus his iPhoto collection, well known from some keynotes etc …
