ISync with new Motorola RAZR V3m

I just purchased the Motorola RAZR V3m and am trying to Sync it with ISync. I previously had a motorola phone, and had no problem. i.e., I have an address book on my computer that I believe I should be able to put on the new phone. However, even after setting the phone for discover me, and asking ISync to find it, no luck. Has anyone tried this new one for compatibility with ISync, and if so, has it worked or is there a workaround that can make them talk. Thanks.

I have had no problems syncing, the trick is to reboot both the pc and the phone after you set it up (don't know why but it works).

I have two minor issues though, isync will not push the birthdays calendar out onto the phone but it places alll other read only calendars out to my phone (dont' know why not that one).

Also, if I change a contact on the phone the information gets changed back into the ibook address book but a duplicate entry is created. So if I add a last name to a contact on my phone, then I get two entries in the address book....etc.

Put an "end" date on birthdays -- or put birthdays in tasks with an end date. I found all recurring items with an end date will be accepted by the v3m. It does not accept open-ended items. As for the duplicate items: I read where Apple suggests only changing contacts in the address book. If you change an address on the phone, it will duplicate -- hope this helps

I just purchased a Razr v3m and isync did not detect it at first. So, I hooked it up with a USB cable and most of the time, it worked. BUT, I have since found out a flawless way for isync to recognize my razr with bluetooth, and contacts & calender sycn flawlessly. Here's what you do:
1. Go to Connections, then bluetooth, then setup on your razr. Click on "find me" and you have 60 seconds for your computer to recognize your phone.
2. click on your bluetooth icon at the top of your screen, and then click on "set up a bluetooth device."
3. Your mac will detect it, then give you a password. Your Razr will ask you if you want to pair with your mac, and when you click ok, you'll need to enter in that password.
4. Then, simply follow the directions on the screen.
5. If your razr doesn't show up in your isync menu, now let isync scan for a new device, and it should detect your razr. You should be good to go at this point.

Also, when you do get your razr showing up on the isync menu, make sure it's clicked on for syncing, and then go to "more options" and make sure the settings are the way you want them for "don't sync items before __" and "Dont' sync items after __"

Hopefully that helps! It was for me after several hours of frustration. Apple support, which is normally awesome, is not helpful in this regard, as they told me that the razr can only sync contacts.

I have been able to sync with the v3m; however, information will start to corrupt after repeated syncs. On the first sync the information is fine (no addresses -- just phone numbers and calendar) -- after that it will corrupt the information in the address book and calendar. I plan to use the computer as my main source and sporadically delete all information from the phone and then isync the data from the computer to the phone as if it were the inital sync. That may be a work around. Motorola says it is not listed as a compatible phone with Isync, so they don't address any questions.

I am syncing everything just fine with my Motorola
V3m EXCEPT that my iCal does not show new events that
I create on my phone. It's weird -- it will
recognize anything I delete on my phone, and those
deletions will show up on iCal, but nothing new that
I create on my phone will show up. Has anyone had
this problem and solved it?

Have you checked your ISync settings to see which ICal calendar you have selected as the bearer of new events created on your phone? If so, the make sure that the calendar you specified is is displaying in ICal.
My new events show up just fine for my Razr V3i.

I too have a two V3m that corrupts data transfers of iCal and the Address Book via a USB cable. Motorola tells me it knows nothing about Apple iSync, Apple says it does not support the V3m and Alltel ignores my emails. If I sync one phone and then the other I get totally different results. Sometimes it omits events from my calender, sometimes it omits telephone numbers. Very frustrating.

I've tried some of the suggestions above without any luck. I just migrated from a Mac Mini to a MacBook Pro. The Mini never had any problem syncing my phone. Now I can send and receive files with bluetooth exchange but I can't sync. I've re-set up my phone and rebooted. iSync will see the phone when I try to add a device but I get the message "iSync can not connect to this device." Any ideas?
Thanks
