Video won't display - how do I find codec?

Hi,
When I open a particular .avi file QuickTime plays the audio only. Having investigated this problem a little I think i need the right codec. The movie info says this clip was "Compressed with Adobe Premiere 4.2." I have searched Adobe site and also Googled "Adobe Premier 4.2 codec QuickTime" and had no luck finding a downloadable codec so I can view this clip in QuickTime. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That "codec" doesn't sound like a codec but just a note of what application compressed the movie. Kind of like saying "compressed with Quicktime Player Pro", which would not refer to a specific codec. Give this freeware player a try at it: VLC

when the file is open with QT then go to "window" and there to "get movie info", now you see the codecs used for audio and video.
