how do i rename an SD card in 'finder'?

actually, this did not help me, but i didnt see an option for that; can you give me some more details; i selected the sd-card in finder-sidebar, went to 'get info' from file menu, then nothing happened retyping a name

Select it, choose Get Info from the File menu, and change the name.

Open the Name & Extension section, select the existing name, type a new one, and either close the window or press Enter. You need to be able to write to the card.
