N-com unit for my helmet stopped working with Siri

I have a N-Com unit in my motorcycle helmet that connects with my iPhone 5s via bluetooth. (Very cool! It has a microphone and speakers built into the helmet.) It used to work great but for some reason I can no longer give commands to Siri. I can hear music just fine. If I receive a phone call or make a phone call manually, everything works fine. But when I activate Siri by pressing a button on my helmet, Siri wakes up but does not respond to any commands that I give. I am not certain, but I think this started after the last update to the OS (7.1.1). I have also sent an inquiry to the N-Com folk.
