How does one load point data into Grapher?

I would like to try out the Grapher utility to support teaching my daughter Algebra this summer. This is my first serious foray into using Grapher after all these years (Mac user since '86)

So how does one import point data into Grapher? I am stumped to figure this out, and the in-app help does not elucidate a solution. I have tried the obvious path of:

  • creating a new plot
  • adding a new point set
  • editing the points to import a .csv file of about 100 pairs of values

But the file never imports.

Would greatly appreciate the assistance on using Grapher.

Thanks,

Dean

I'm not having any problem importing the point set.

When you say "100 pairs," did you include the "index" column. Each pair of numbers also needs a ordering column.

0 2 4

1 3 6

2 7 8

Hello Dean,

All explanations in "Instructions for Use - Grapher" (English) or "Mode d'emploi de Grapher" (French) available (free) on the website :

<http://y.barois.free.fr/grapher/Documentation.html>

Pages 31 to 37 : "Treating a point set (regression curves)" step by step.

Page 69 Appendix I : From the spreadsheet to Grapher, i.e. from an Excel Numbers NeoOffice table to a Grapher point set.

Enjoy,
