Match process stalling out at end

I've been using iTunes Match for about a year and a half and have started experiencing a new problem in the last couple of days. I've added a few new tracks to my library over the last couple of days and have attempted to "Update iTunes Match." However, the matching process is stalling out at the end. It looks like it's just about to finish but then it never does. I have downloaded the most up-to-date version of iTunes, I have stopped and restarted the "Update iTunes Match" process numerous times. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times. I have restarted my computer and started over. Etc. Etc. and the same problem keeps occurring. Last night, I let the matching process continue overnight and it still had not finished in the morning. I am at my wit's end at this point. It's only 11 new songs that I'm trying to get iTunes to Match. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

Hi bst71. Thanks for your input. I don't post in here often enough to know what the typical volume of complaints on a universal issue might be. I do see that 8 people have clicked on my original post saying they're having the same issue. Plus, several more people have specifically posted in this thread saying they're having the same issue. This issue would seemingly only occur with people who are uploading tracks from sources outside the iTunes store. For people who obtain new music solely from the iTunes store, I would anticipate that this issue would not impact them.

Here is an updated screen shot of iTunes on my primary computer. The good news is "iCloud Status" reappeared as a view option for me in the last hour or so, so maybe that is a positive sign. As a test, I downloaded the free single of the week from the iTunes store and, as expected, it does not join the other 11 tracks in a state of limbo.User uploaded file

Having the same issue. I also have been a Match user from day one. I have been having issues for more than a couple of days for sure. And I can somewhat confirm the issue of "purchased content" / "not purchased content..."

I bought a new release on iTunes this week. Those songs show up everywhere I would expect them too. I also bought a physical CD of the same album as it had two bonus tracks that the iTunes Store version did not have. I have spend the better part of the last 2 days trying to get those two songs to upload to the cloud. On the iTunes Match screen I am stuck on Step 2 with 26278 of 26280 songs checked - the two I am assuming are the two that I am trying to add.

On the machine that I am not trying to add the songs to, the two songs appear but are grayed out. Same is true on my iOS devices as well. And I have tried at home and at work with my home machine and work machine and enabled and disabled all the features discussed in this thread to no avail. It is almost like it "almost" makes it up to the cloud but not quite based on the grayed out listings on my other devices / computers.

In any event, Match is pretty much unusable now.

Same problem here.

Chatted with an Apple Tech who (after a series of attempted fixes) came to the conclusion it "may be on the server side". I referred him to these boards. Apparently we should be going to that Product Feedback in order to get things moving on their end, according to him..........that doesn't sound right.

Hi,

Hold shift key on a PC when turning off match.

I have been having similar problems as others. At present all my music has been matched or uploaded now.

I have found that the automatic scan after adding tracks has not worked neither has using option to select track then add to iCloud. I have found that simply stopping scan process and selecting add to iTunes Match usually works. Adding tracks that will match is still quick but if you know that the track will upload, the process is extremely slow and sometimes stalls. I have been adding a lot of classical music where I have joined movements - up to 30 min long / 50 mb size.

All very frustrating.

Jim
