mevio password pop-up
I'm getting a pop-up today in Itunes asking for User Name and Password to access a podcast at www.mevio.com.
I haven't seen this before and I don't have an account on that site. Suggestions?

Looks as if mevio.com has shut down. Any feed you picked up through that site will be invalid. You'll need to track down the website of the podcast's producer to locate an alternative feed.

None of the solutions presented here were practical for me. My podcast library was too big. I talked to Apple Care about this and got lucky to find an agent who took the problem seriously. Not so lucky was the answer from Engineering about the Mevio popup: Out of scope. So for me at least, the official answer from Apple was that they don't care. I am left to decide to either throw away my podcast library and start over or throw away iTunes and start over. This is a bitter situation which could have been fixed at application level in one of the bi-weekly iTunes updates. Someone could probably write a script to find the Mevio podcasts in a large library; I've seen scripts that do lots of interesting things.

Have you tried this suggestion?
Open the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
Double-click on the file hosts and choose to open with Notepad
Copy the following two lines and paste into the end of the file:
127.0.0.1 mevio.com # Podcast login patch
127.0.0.1 www.mevio.com # Podcast login patch
Then save.
