Lost Dock Eye Candy

I logged in after rebooting and my dock worked (i.e., it launched apps when I clicked them), but it didn't magnify. I tried turning that setting off and then back on, but to no avail. Then, as an experiment, I tried turning on the hide mode. That worked...but now it won't unhide! My dock is gone!

Any ideas?
