Websites pause before loading on my mac - the PC is fine
When my Mac gets on a website everything loads very quickly - I did a speed test and my DSL speed is what it should be. I'm using an airport card.
My problem is that when I go to a new website my browser sits there for around 10 -15 seconds, at the bottom it says "connecting to" and then the site loads very fast. Once I'm on a site I can navigate around pretty quickly and my download speed is fast if I were to view a movie or something.
What is also odd is that I have a PC connected wirelessly to the same hub and it does not have this problem. It connects instantly to every website.
My MAC DID NOT have this problem with my old d-link hub, but that thing died and I've been told by several people not to buy one of those again.
I'm not sure what to try, this is really annoying. This "lag" also happens when I use Dreamweaver to connect to a website to FTP etc...
I've shut everything down - unplugged everything - restarted. I've reset my permissions - ran the latest software updates.
This happens in all my browsers - Safari, Netscape, Firefox, Old IE5 and even FTPing to sites using Fetch or Dreamweaver.
I have a G5 - Dual 2.7 Gig - Airport card - Firmware version 402.6
Any ideas for me to try?
