Function buttons are grey instead of blue?

When I open my messages and look at the edit function and new message function it's grey instead of blue. What does that mean?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1.1

The text with a function on a white background should be blue, and the background for the Edit function with the Messages app is white, so not sure what the text being gray means. I'm not aware of a setting that changes that.

Settings > General > Accessibility > Button Shapes > Off.

There is a gray background in the shape of a button with blue text with Button Shapes off?

There's no background. It's the letters that are grey instead of blue?

Yeah text should be blue but it's grey. Thank you tho for trying.

This happened when my iPhone was low battery. Maybe that's what happened?
