my computer has been shut off for five years it wont let me update says the digatal signature for this package is incorrect

my Mac is a 2008 and has been shut off since 2009. i tried to update and a message keeps comig uo stating.....The update "Mac OSx update combined cant be saved.The digatal signature for this program is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed bt Apple.
