AFSBackgrounder problem?

Mid 2012 15" MacBook Pro, Mavericks 10.9.3

Computer takes a rather long time to boot. I ran EntreCheck and noticed in

User Launch Agents:

[failed] it.infn.lnf.network.AFSBackgrounder.plist.

I checked with Console and found repeated instances of

com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[188]: (it.infn.lnf.network.AFSBackgrounder[272]) Job failed to exec(3). Setting up event to tell us when to try again: 2: No such file or directory

com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[188]: (it.infn.lnf.network.AFSBackgrounder[272]) Job failed to exec(3) for weird reason: 2.

I know that AFS has something to do with file sharing over a network, but that's the extent of my understanding. I'd be grateful if someone could suggest an explanation for the above messages and whether it's something I should be concerned about.

Thanks,

Howard Fried

Yes, thank you. I did indeed find an OpenAFS folder (I should have looked before posting to the Discussions). The folder is two years old, which is probably why I had forgotten that I had installed the AFS pkg (probably to connect to a remote volume at my university). I backed up, ran the uninstall script, but, curiously, the it.infn.lnf.network.AFSBackgrounder.plist file remained in /User/Library/LaunchAgents (and failed on bootup). Manually removing the file cleared the issue.

Cheers,

Howard
