Can I update my macbook pro early 2011 to use bluetooth 4.0

Os-store is a no go, not reliable.

Just got it the other day ~ took so long to arrive. But they shipped it from hongkong. It’s half way around the globe.

Let us know if Continuity will work after Yosemite GM is released! If so, I'll do the upgrade, if not, I'll just have to do without!

I have a early 2011 15" MBP, so if come final Yosemite this is confirmed to work I'll be on it. Although, I suspect the part will soon be hard to come by!

Anyone try the chip with today's beta?

Thats kind of what I figured. Any idea why the option isn't showing up in System Preferences to enable on the MBP?

You'll need to run the terminal commands on the earlier pages of this thread and remember to re-boot. Same wifi network required. And you DEFINITELY need ios8 and 10.10 on both devices.

Everything is working fine, after a few hours trying over and over : Boum !!!!!! i did it.

did someone of you try the procedure (kext file) on Yosemite beta 2?

I don't know why, but the wifi card doesn't show up...while the bluetooth does and it shows me Bluetooth LE enable.

Ok, because looking on page 2, that guy sandervkn said he paid 16€ so clearly I think he was talking about the other one.
