How do i add a bit crusher in garageband 10?

Hi. I got the new garage band 10 and i am very unhappy with it. I found the audio units section where you can add audio effects in such but bit crusher was not one of them. I also noticed that a few of the other effects were not there. Is there a plugin i can install? Or was the bitcrsher removed?

the good news is that installing GBv10 does not delete the older version, it simply moves it to its own folder within the Applications folder; it can still be used

better news, you can create your own smart controls for GBv10 using the older version, and in fact this video shows how to get the bit crusher (iirc) as a smart control in GBv10:

The Problem is i dont have the old garage band. I never had it actually.

feel like experimenting? i could upload a GBv10 project that includes the bit crusher as a smart control for you to try.

i don't know if it will work, and i can't easily test it myself (i have 5 machines running OS X 10.6, and only 1 running 10.9, and it has GBv6 installed...), but my gut says it's likely to work.

care to find out for us?
