Could This (new discussion format) Be Any Worse?

I've been participating in the Apple support forums for a good many years. They have been very useful and I've supplied a number of useful support answers. But now it's pretty much all gone. It's very difficult to find specific things and it's now impossible to see, at a glance, how many people have both viewed and replied to individual threads. That's critical for identifying big issues--especially those that accompany a signficiant operating system upgrade. Further, the text is so large that much less information can be displayed on a computer display. Finally, when you go to Apple Support your display is completely taken up by big square blocks--can you say "Windows R/T?" I guess all good things come to an end.

The best that Apple Discussions ever was was two changes ago. The previous iteration was tolerable even though it was confusing for newbies.

Like many here I may not be happy with what Apple is doing but that does not make me anti-Mac.

I can also manage to navigate the new "improved" site (which "mysteriously" many can't) so that would just be another ridiculous assertion on your part.

It is no help to anyone to just perpetually gloss over bad design decisions. Bad design decisions that Blind Freddy can see, even if you can't.

Cheers

Aloha RC. Thanks for the info. Looking at Hiroto's changes other then the person who asked the question it looks like the same list you can get on turingtest2 site map. Unfortunately with just an iPad I doubt I could implement the suggested changes. Keep up the good work. The forum could stand a few more positive contributions right about now. Bob.

For those that missed it, the link to turingtest2's list is Site map of Communities and Categories (https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2463). It appears in the 'user tips' section of Using Apple Support Communities (https://discussions.apple.com/community/using_apple_support_communities), but since currently you have to know about the workaround of adding a "/content" suffix to the community links to see the "User Tips" tab (like https://discussions.apple.com/community/using_apple_support_communities/content for this one), you might find it more convenient to bookmark a link to his list.

For User Tips you can also tap content at the top of this page then User tips.

True, but that gets you to a listing of every user tip for every Community in all of ASC. Like babowa said, adding "/content" to the end of a community URL will get you to the Community-specific page, & it will have a tab for the User Tips specific to that community, along with a count of how many there are. For example:
