Lowercase keyboard on iPhone

Does anyone have any insight as to when Apple will allow their iPhone keyboards to toggle between upper and lower case letters? It is so darn frustrating to not have this feature, that I almost returned to phone.

But I'm hoping that logic will prevail in the near future...maybe with the next OS update? It can only be described as a stupid decision to design the phone without this ability.

Somebody, please make a convincing argument for the other side, because I've got to be missing something. Just don't use the argument that it is just as easy to use a keyboard that does not toggle between upper and lower case as one that does. You may be used to such a keyboard, but don't try to say that it is just as easy. That would fail the logic test because mental overhead is required to know which setting the keyboard is on.

One reason that I would like this is for those times when I'm typing in a strong password. It would be beneficial to me if it were made obvious whether or not the Shift key is enabled. For the life of me, the switch between black arrow on white background and white arrow on gray background just isn't as meaningful or obvious to me as simply reflecting what will be typed on the keys themselves. It feels like Apple is just being stubborn on this one.

I'm the same person as dotazu above. I just somehow can't log in to this discussions page with my original AppleID so I created a new one, temporarily.

I suppose I should have been clearer. I meant to ask when it would be possible to have the on-screen keyboard visibly display/toggle between lowercase and uppercase letters.

I have an iPhone 5c and I obviously know that it is capable of typing in both lower and upper case letter. I knew about the Shift key and its double tap function. I thought it would have been clear by my original comment that I was referring to the visual appearance of the letters on the keyboard. But anyway, I'm making that clear now.

Any suggestions as to a work-around to this problem. I don't really want to jailbreak the phone.
