Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I just purchased National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean about 2-3 hours ago. It got to the point in the download where it was finished downloading, and it said "processing file." At this point, iTunes quit responding and locked up my entire computer, which forced me to manually shut it off and restart it. Now, my movie downloads are gone. I have some sort of file on my computer (maybe a temp file? I have no idea), but nothing shows in iTunes. What should I do? I spent $20 bucks on these movies, and want to be able to watch them.

I downloaded Gone in 60 Seconds last night for $9.99. It took forever and it charged the money from my account, but i think it only downloaded the trailer. What do I do?
so i just downloaded 10 things i hate about you and what itunes sent me was the freakin trailer!!! I paid 10 bucks and all i got was the trailer...anybody run into this before???
ya i had the exact problem with pirates ive had a good experience so i have some confidence in apple
I just had the same exact problem tonight, with Pirates of the Caribbean. I purchased it and all it downloaded was the trailer, not the actual movie. I reported a problem with it in my purchase history, we'll see if anything happens.
I have ben downloading Pirates of the Carribian and it took forever. I would download about one hundred mb's every other hour and one day when I went to start the download it said the file was 10 mb's big so i got suspicious, stopped it, restarted my computer and tryed again but it didnt work so I downloaded it anyway and it ended up being the FREE!!!! trailer! I was P.O.ed and I can find no way to get ahold of apple. I dont like apple that much anyway, the only things they did well was the ipod and itunes, well they screwed that up. Any suggestions?
Go into your purchase history on the iTunes store, under your account sign in and click on the "Report Problem" button. I did that and within a day they emailed me to let me know that they were aware of the problem and they gave me a code to get a free $1.99 video. The next day they emailed me to let me know that they problem was fixed and that the movie was ready to download.
I just purchased the TV series LOST Season 1. It downloaded a couple of episodes but the rest will not download. When I try to start downloading them again. It says connection cannot be found. I have an active connection. Can you please help me figure out what is wrong. Thank you...

When I tried to download the free version of the Lost season finale my computer shuts down because windows has detected an error. I've only been trying to download free shows because I'm afraid to pay for something that I might not be able to get. Music downloads fine, and when I didn't have itunes 7.0 I could download shows fine as well. There is no point in me having a video ipod if i can't download any shows, and if it keeps shutting down my comp. Has anyone gotten any good support about these situations?

I have attempted to submit a "User Complaint" using the form on the iTunes Help & Support page in order to explain a situation mirroring Koda2006's complaint below. When I submit the complaint, I am notified of an "Error on Page". Not only can I not download a movie that I paid $9.99 for, but it seems that there isn't even a way for me to ask for the help I need! I am very discouraged with the service.
By the way, Apples response stating that users should be sure that they have iTunes 7.0 and the latest Quicktime is ridiculous. You cannot even begin to download without those new programs.

Yes, I had the same problem. My movie is just gone. I tried to explain this in my complaint but all I got was a letter requesting useless information. I hope the that you have better luck than I.
I have just experienced a similar problem. I bought Sweet Home Alabama, there was approx. 20 minutes left on the download when suddenly "Itunes is experiencing a problem and needs to shut down." I pressed okay, itunes shut itself down and when I restarted the program, the movie was no longer available, it was gone. I went to my purchase history to report the problem. I hope there is some way for me to download the movie again, otherwise I just wasted $9.99
I wish I would have read some of these before buying. I purchased Pirates It said it was about 1.67 gigs. downloaded for over 2 hours then when it said it was 100% and it was processing file my computer locked up and when I got it back on the movie is gone and Itunes shows it as complete.
Has anyone had luck with this?

Latest news on this from September??? I just downloaded Pirates yesterday and once finished, it said "Processing" and then shut down completely. Has anyone been given a solution from Apple?
I purchased 10 episodes of Alfred Hitchcock and 3 of Desparate Housewives and none of the items will download. I have since purchased more music and Grey's Anatomy and got all of them but I keep getting errors like -3259 and -8003. I am very disappointed and have no way of getting refunded or anything. I have had my iPod 2 years and just recently purchased a new one so I could have more options and they have hoodwinked me and my brother who is also here in Iraq and is experiencing the same thing.
I just tried something. I shut down my anti-virus near the end of the download. The "processing" step finished without a hitch this time.
Sometimes anti-virus will prevent downloads and the like.
