Movies - Download Problem

I just purchased National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean about 2-3 hours ago. It got to the point in the download where it was finished downloading, and it said "processing file." At this point, iTunes quit responding and locked up my entire computer, which forced me to manually shut it off and restart it. Now, my movie downloads are gone. I have some sort of file on my computer (maybe a temp file? I have no idea), but nothing shows in iTunes. What should I do? I spent $20 bucks on these movies, and want to be able to watch them.

All I really want to know is if You had to pay for the download all over again? I just paid 14.99 for Pineapple express... it took 5 hours to download... I even watched the first 5 minutes of it before it finished downloading. I left then came back and it was gone. I was charged for it, but I can't find the movie anywhere. I just want my money back after reading all the horror stories on this page.

I was getting the same error (8008) on repeated attempts to download a music video. The solution to deal with a -50 error cleared it up for me, even though the error number is different. I deleted the temporary file (partial download must have been corrupt) and started the download from the beginning using "Check for recent purchases". See details in the article at

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1583?viewlocale=en_US

I also quit browsing around the store while the re-download was running so that the computer could have full bandwidth and focus its full attention on getting the file, which I figured wouldn't hurt. The download was successful after following the instructions in the link above. In step 2 it doesn't say what to do if you have a Mac, in this case use the Windows Vista instructions to identify the directory to discard (titleOfDownload.tmp) since Mac OS and Vista use the same directory naming style for their temporary files.

I just bought "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist". I know I bought this because money was deducted from my account. HOWEVER. It didn't download. It didn't register in my recent purchases log. It's not in my movie folder, or anywhere else on my computer. I reported a problem, but I'm still kind of angry. This isn't the first time this has happened either. Help?

I have a similar problem when renting movies. It has now happened with the last two that I tried to rent. Apple support (if you can call it that) has been no help whatsoever. Very frustrating.

Unless they fix the problem, I'll stop renting movies from them. It does not happen when buying movies or TV shows, just when renting movies. After four or so hours, when it appears to have completed the download, the following error message shows up:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-42110).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.

Trying again later never helps. The last time it happened they refunded my money and said they removed it from my downloads but it is still there. Now it has happened again. Support just copies and pastes canned replies. Based on my experience they don't even read the emails. Perhaps they're scanned for keywords so the "appropriate" canned reply can be pasted in. Very unprofessional, offensive to customers, and shameful actions on Apples part. I thought Apples customers paid extra for quality. iTunes Store is far from being a quality service.

You must have missed the posts I read, which indicated that Apple was pretty responsive about making the movie available for re-downloading if you just let them know you had a problem.

I did observe that the vast majority of people with these problems are running Windows, and the vast majority of Windows machines run anti-virus software which notoriously interferes with other things, or are infected with malware (or both).

I bought a Music Video off iTunes with my old computer. At Christmas time I bought a new one and I'm currently moveing my music. Sadly my video will not burn as a video but only audio. I tried using a DVD disc and that didn't work. I tried manualy coping the file and nada. I'm starting to get frustrated and could some help. Anyone got any ideas?
