I have 2 different magnetic card readers.
A MSR100 and a Magtek. Bother are OSX compatible. Both say to just plug them into a USB and it will read mag cards and return the info like a keyboard. But neither is doing so.
There are no drivers or apps for said readers.
I do not see anything in preferences for HID's.
Dont have a clue how to go about getting these to work on a MAC.

Hate bumping up an old thread, but if you have any sort of word processor on your Mac, you should be able to use it. As a matter of fact, it'll work on any app where you can type something, messaging, notes, text edit, the whole lot. Ideally, you should only be using it in apps like Excel or Number, but that's none of my business...
Neither have drivers for MAC.
For OSX all drivers are native. All have same exact "install instructions" which is to simply plug in via usb and that is it. That it will read and send data via text as a keyboard would.
Was hoping someone had at least use a mag card reader of any sort with their Mac.
Look on the manufacturer's web site to see if you can find any help.
You need ask the magnetic card reader provider for technology helps. It may provides installations tutorial video for you, or give you some drive programs.
