All,
here is a little follow up. A few weeks further and all my issues are solved, and here explained how:
So I paid 153€ for the repairs and now everything is working as expected and i am a happy iphone user again. So for the big question, why not use apple warrantee, I will explain this here:
So that are the reasons why I did not sent this device to Apple, and went straight to a hardware store. So Apple maybe look into a better solution when people are having hardware problems with the phone. Because 3 of the 4 iphones I had, at some point had hardware problems. And maybe open an official Apple store in Belgium, because we have to drive to either Oberhausen in Germany, or Amsterdam, Den Hage, Utrect in the Netherlands.
Having same problem here. Nothing has worked for me so far. 😟
Hopefully Apple will release a software update to fix this soon!
Hey brindysoft,
I doubt it will be solved by Software release .... Only a hardware replacement worked for me.
I tried 7.1.2 , 8.0.0 beta4 & beta5.
Regards
I have two iPhone 4s's - mine and my wife's - that each had camera issues as follows: the camera app could be selected, but began to freeze up after taking a photo and then switching to Camera Roll view. After taking a few more photos on each, the camera app would not even stay active - it would freeze and then return to the home page.
Both problems were fixed by deleting about half the images I had stored on each using the photo viewer app and the camera roll album, then doing a full shutdown and restart.
In my wife's case, there were about 430 still photos and a few videos. In my case, there were about 100 photos, many of which HDR, and several longer videos.
I speculate that the native camera app has a hard-to-debug limitation on the total filesize of images that it can work with. Luckily, the native photo viewer app doesn't have the same limitation.
So the camera stops working every time I have to reboot.
I have gone back to pressing on the lens during the reboot phase, but using both hands to increase the pressure on the lens.
It works, but I still do not know why.
I suggest adding more pressure on the lens, but don't use any tools or you might crack it.
IT WORKED !!!!!!
