while updating to iOS 7.1.2, my iphone 5 had frozen at around 50%. and when i reboot with the advices from the community, my phone turn off itself even though it is 88% battery remaining... since a couple of weeks my battery is not able to last a whole day...
do you have any backups of the device? and you might have actually done some damage to the device. using other chargers or cables can harm its battery and internal equip.
Pretty confusing, your title say you updated to 7.1.2 which came out today which caused battery issues.
Then the body of your thread, states that you've had couple of weeks of bad battery.

Huge power drain noticed on 5s
80% drained in 5 hours!
On 7.1.1 it was just fine till evening.
Without any "disable all futures" "optimization"
FIX needed asap!

It was OK on 7.1.1 and now its VERY not OK
No games, no call, some messages, only on wifi.

Turn your iphone in DFU Mode and install the update via itunes again. If that will Not fix your issues then setup your iphone as a new device without restoring an Old Backup. Sometimes an old backup is corrupt and causes some issues
Read my message AGAIN, and click on the link I provided. If you browse the forum over the past 7 years you will see posts after every update that say EXACTLY THE SAME THING your post says, just substituting different version numbers for "7.1.2". And also posts reporting the same problem between updates.
If you want to believe its a problem in 7.1.2 that is your privilege, but it won't help you get your problem fixed. The ONLY thing that will fix it is to follow the instructions in the link I provided and other helpful advice that has already been posted in this thread.
