Iphone update iOS 7.1.2

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.

You can try resetting your device and then re-upgrading. Try using iTunes to update instead of using wireless. It's more reliable than wireless.

Try inserting and re-inserting your headphones 7 or 8 times. Also try cleaning out the headphone jack in case of debris that might be interfering with the connection/disconnection.

Same issue. Could hear text tones today before i updated to 7.1.2 and now can only hear notification tones with the headphones plugged in. Only the ringer works. Everything else just vibrates.

Exact same problem here... The "old" iPhone 4s+ios7 trick of reinserting the audio jack, or adding/removing Bluetooth audio devices does nothing (I have an iPhone 5). Whenever I adjust the audio volume it says I am adjusting the "headphones" volume, although there is nothing plugged in...

Go to Settings>General>Accesibility>Incoming Calls and change to Headset or Default

I Have an iPad 2 and have the same sound issue after updating to 7.1.2

Alert sounds ok

pandora, Music, other music apps work through headset, but not the speaker.

if you go to the Music app, the volume slider is dimmed.

is NOT the mute button.

every once in a while it will work but then just stop while playing

when you click the volume buttons the bell comes up and it says sound effects

since the speaker works with the alert sounds, speaker works.

can play though headphones

i've played with every setting possible. Has to be 7.1.2

i also got the freeze for two hours while updating and was forced to reset to get out of it.

Same problem...i was playing song through the speaker and every time I launched app that requesting access to microphone, I lost all sounds. Have to close all apps and put my iphone 4s back to sleep for a minute or two then it will work again.

Same problem here. It happened after iOS 7.1.2 update.

I tried anything but nothing worked.

close all running apps that using direct accest to your camera and microphone. Then hard reset your iphone (hold on power and home button ) let it restart and and standby by itself. Dont do anything. after a minute or two the sounds will be back. in my case I cant turn off my phone too. hope this will help

i have same problem but much worst.. i update my iphone4s ios 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 and my iphone CAN'T READ MY SIM, MODEM FIRMWAY GONE, IMEI GONE, and same issue as you guys can't hear sound on my speaker but using earphone works. Any suggestion guys to Fix my iphone.thanks a lot. APPLE PLEASE FIX. TAKE ACTION.

Saying "Apple please fix" on this forum won't do you any good, as they aren't here. This is a user-to-user technical support forum hosted by Apple, but there is no one here from Apple. Have you tried any of the user troubleshooting steps as outlined in the manual?

I had the same thing. Try going to settings > sounds then check your ringer and alerts settings. Mine was all the way down. Hope that helped

After a week of no sound, all of a sudden (without any changes from me) sounds started working again. Pandora, Music, USA Today, Redbox trailers, everything. I have no explanation. I changed no settings. I was in USA Today, looking at a video clip and the sounds started. We'll see if it lasts, but I have no idea what corrected it.

The same thing happened to me. After a few days of no sound, everything started working again.... magically.

Mistery... we will never know what was not working and why ...

Fingers crossed ... it's working so far.🙂🙂🙂
