iOS 7.1.2 wifi problems after update (iPhone 5S)

Since upgrading to 7.1.2, I've been having trouble connecting to our company WIFI, which are all Cisco.

At first, I had to "Forget" the network, and it re-joined. But soon after, it ceased. It's not a signal issue as our entire campus is riddled with WIFI points and there's one near my office.

So my question to the community is has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you contact Apple Support and/or are there other reports of these problems?

Thanks.

Same problem here.

Can connect to unsecure 'Hotspot' that the router creates but can not connect to the secure connection.

GIrl friends iPad Air and my iPhone 4 works fine. These have all been upgraded To 7.1.2

I have carried out all the usual stuff listed several times but none of this works.

Please help! Very frustrated with this.

also have never had the iPad battery run down so quickly since I have had it.

Chatted with an Apple advisor and that's what he told me, implying the current wi-fi issue has nothing to do with the update but with the hardware issue that might have started months ago and I didn't know about. Do you think it's legit explanation or some bs?:

"I understand it may seem that the update caused the issues, when in reality, since they optimize the use of the iPhone they generally do not cause hardware issues. They do however exploit hardware issues that had begun in the previous versions of software. Since you restored the iPhone, the software is fine at this point. "

Well, that's interesting. I suppose the rep could be correct; however, I just assume have a working device. Therefore:

1) If there is a defective hardware issue, then Apple needs to address that (replace my phone)

2) You mentioned restoring the phone -- did you backup 7.1.2 and restore it, or did you restore it to the last version before 7.1.2 (which I understand is not allowed?)

Can you elaborate. If this is indeed hardware related, I will go to the Apple Store today.

Thanks.

Sometimes it is hard to pinpoint the problem but if your device is still under warranty then you can check it out at the Apple Store. They will sure to replace it if they can't solve it there.

I mean if can be defective but if it was working great before you updated and all of a sudden it turned wack? The update could be corrupted and its suggested to try do a fresh restore if it is the last resort if resetting network setting, reset all settings, turning on and off phone, airplane mode on and off, restart phone, forget wifi network and try to connect after a few minutes, restarting router and those are just I can think of.

You should backup just in case they will replace or thinking to restore one more time before going to the Apple Store.

I have same problems, loosing Wi-Fi, phone overheating etc. Today I did online chat with Apple support. They had me do all the usual stuff: reset, hard reset, backup and restore. None of these fixed the problems. Apple tech would not acknowledge any problems with update to 7.1.2. She finally signed off with the advice that the complete restore should solve any "bugs" and if not, then the problem most be with my phone's hardware. I am beyond frustrated. My Apple 'case' remains open for 30 days, but I don't see any point in contacting them again, unless to just add my voice to what I hope is many others who are letting Apple know what a problem this is.

I am having the exact same issues. I have an iPhone 5s and an iPad 4. Both were connecting fine to the wi-fi in my house until two days ago. I updated (ie, was force fed) both devices to iOS 7.1.2 three, maybe four days ago. Now, I either cannot connect to my home wi-fi or if I can, the connection is dropped within minutes. My wife's Samsung galaxy can connect (and stay connected) anywhere in the house, including upstairs which is 15 meters and two walls away from the router.

This is bulsht. I've gone through Apple's stupid checklist, including start/restart, hard starts, and a "Reset Network Settings" which of course erases all my wi-fi locations and passwords that I've accumulated up to now.

This problem started with the iOS 7.1.2 update, clear and simple. I f**king hate this. I cannot connect, my kids cannot connect, and I can only get work done sitting down in front of my computer. Hey Apple, listen up. I am NOT an Apple fanboy/sheep who is locked into your ecosystem. Fix this problem NOW or I'm done with your products. I don't want to use Android but will switch in a heartbeat if you people don't make this right.

You folks KNOW this is related to the update, no matter what your "genius'" say. Fix this or I'm gone (yeah, that means no purchase of the iPad Air or the iPhone 6, both of which I was contemplating but now?)!

I Have now sorted out the connection problem on my iPad 3 as posted earlier.

Have entered information in the Static Ip section of the iPad to do with the router I am trying to connect to.

Now connects to this known wireless network straight away instead of just watching the spinning icon.

why?

All other devices on the network have been ok since the upgrade and this iPad has been connecting to another known router/network at the girl friends house without a problem.

Hi,

I tried something on my iPad that "solve" the issue (more a workaround)

On my home router, I reserved an IP addressee for my iPad (example 192.168.0.23). Then I put this addressee in the static option of the WI-FI setting of the connection. Then I connect to the wi-fi and it's work.

That will not solve the issue if you are somewhere else where you can't play with the router, unfortunately.

Hope that will help some users.
