This is bulsht. I've gone through Apple's stupid checklist, including start/restart, hard starts, and a "Reset Network Settings" which of course erases all my wi-fi locations and passwords that I've accumulated up to now.
This problem started with the iOS 7.1.2 update, clear and simple. I f**king hate this. I cannot connect, my kids cannot connect, and I can only get work done sitting down in front of my computer. Hey Apple, listen up. I am NOT an Apple fanboy/sheep who is locked into your ecosystem. Fix this problem NOW or I'm done with your products. I don't want to use Android but will switch in a heartbeat if you people don't make this right.
You folks KNOW this is related to the update, no matter what your "genius'" say. Fix this or I'm gone (yeah, that means no purchase of the iPad Air or the iPhone 6, both of which I was contemplating but now?)!
He's right. No two ways about it. This has gone on long enough.
It's wrong for a vendor to supply an update to their product (and encourage you to take it) and then shy away from any problems it may have introduced to their previously functioning product. The constant implications "everyone else is fine", "you must have done something wrong", or "just do a full restore and see if that helps" just add insult to injury.
Apple used to make a far superior product, that always "just worked", no need to fiddle-f*rt around futzing with settings and restoring from backups. The simplicity, usability, and ease-of-mind was what set Apple apart from the more technically engaging competitor's solutions.
These are very expensive, advance hardware devices. They come with the expectation that you won't have a bunch of hassles to use the product as intended. Having to drive somewhere and traipse through a retail store to resolve spurious problems is definitely a hassle. Something you'd expect from a cheaper phone or tablet.
If you took your car to the dealer for a recommended oil-change and service interval, you'd be p*ssed if they gave it back with random drivability issues. If they did a firmware upgrade on your Audi and now the radio or climate control are sometimes wiggy, and they said it's not their problem, you'd be irate and take your business elsewhere.
So yeah, ditto on the "Fix this or I'm gone", including a new Ipad and phone.
