iOS 7.1.2 wifi problems after update (iPhone 5S)

I'm also experiencing wifi problems since loading 7.1.2 on my iPhone 4s.

Neither a reboot nor resetting network settings have helped - the button to switch on wifi simply cannot be switched on.

This is a significant problem for me (and it appears for many others) and it would help to hear that Apple acknowledge there is a problem to be fixed.

I cannot conceive that a fix will have to wait until iOS 8.

Interesting to note that my modern Windows setups have been more reliable than my Apple equipment.

deng, and i thought it was my router or isp problem, im been having dropout connection using my wifi. i end up restore my phone as new phone and still it didint fix the problem!! now im having a hardtime trying to download my apps and games, suck it up APPLE!!

My roommates and I all experiencing the same difficulty connecting to our home wifi... (We all have iPhone 5, the router is Verizon)

Same issue on an iPhone 5S 7.1.2 (11D257) on an open wifi network. Interestingly, sometimes it will connect but connection time will vary.

The Iphone 5s, wont work on the wifi, open or closed network, unless you are within one foot from the router, connection time varies on all networks and connections. excuses are like opinions.... too many people have the same issue proves otherwise.

I am experiencing issues with my wifi connection on my iPhone 5c after updating to 7.1.2 as well. This is very frustrating. Everything was working just fine till the very moment I updated my phone. Obviously Apple messed up with the firmware and nothing is wrong with the hardware of all our iPhones. Apple must recognize the problem and fix it ASAP , if they don't want to lose an more of their loyal clients .

P.S. None of this would have happened if Steve Jobs was alive 😟 .

SOLVED: I logged a case with apple and they suggested I do a restore as new, and restore from backup. It was painful, as I had to go through the process of reconfiguring all my apps authentication (google authenticator 2-step stuff) but now I am able to connect without a problem.

Maybe my question is not too bright but, restoring from new and restoring from backup (which backup?) aren't two different things? They made you do both anyway? You restored from your last bacup at the end (7.1.2 ?) ?

P.S. I am starting to get ****** off big time with apple. Looks like their products are slowly turning into androids.

I didn't do a restore from backup. I restored as new or setup as new. This restored the firmware of 7.1.2 without any of my settings or backed up information.

All you have to do is call apple support and open up an incident and they will walk you through the configuration to setup as new. It doesn't cost anything if your issue was created by a firmware update.

I was able to chat with them while being in eastern europe. the phone was however purchased in Canada, not sure if this makes a difference.

Nope. I had all of them on iCloud so my contacts, notes, etc were all restored no problem. As would any of you using google's services; as long as your data is stored in the cloud.
What I did loose was the 2step authentication info. That took an extra effort to get back.

HI I upgraded to 7.1.2 yesterday and my wifi greyed out... I tried restoring phone to factory settings without backup... Also I tried resetting network settings... No luck yet... Can you suggest me wht to do... I'm out of warranty... I don't want to pay $199 just because of apples 7.1.2's update. Please help

After 7.1.2 update, my IPAD 2 losses wifi connection every 5min and prompts to select wifi network again and again till it reconnects after some time.

this happens at every 5min interval.
