iOS 7.1.2 wifi problems after update (iPhone 5S)

Since upgrading to 7.1.2, I've been having trouble connecting to our company WIFI, which are all Cisco.

At first, I had to "Forget" the network, and it re-joined. But soon after, it ceased. It's not a signal issue as our entire campus is riddled with WIFI points and there's one near my office.

So my question to the community is has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you contact Apple Support and/or are there other reports of these problems?

Thanks.

I have exactly the same issue with wi-fi connection following the update to 7.1.2 - my iPad 2 is now failing to connect to my home network, or the connection is dropping after a minute or so, freezing, facetime is continously reconnecting during a video call, i am unable to stream TV - where previous to the update all of these functioned perfectly.

Thanks Apple - my iPad 2 is now rendered useless for the purpose I bought it for, facetiming my family who live 3000 miles away from me, and secondarily streaming TV.

If anyone knows how to easily restore the previous version of the software, please post - I am not a techy so simple steps please!

Thank goodness I haven't updated the 5s or I would be truly cut off thanks to Apple and their eternally faulty software updates...

Thanks

******************** FIX FOR WIFI PROBLEMS **********************

Apple is still signing 7.1.1 which fixed my WiFi issue of connecting @work. This allows you to downgrade your firmware without any issues.

Search for the direct link for iOS 7.1.1 (Google iOS 7.1.1 direct link)

Download the appropriate iOS software

Open iTunes, and take a complete backup of your phone.

Hold the Shift key and click on Restore.

Select the iOS firmware which you have saved on your computer.

Done. You can now choose to restore your backup or sign in to iCloud and let it sync your info.

I chose to setup as a new phone to prevent any settings from hampering my phones connectivity.

Good Luck.

Ok, what I am going to tell you guys is crazy but try this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj10bz5bI6A . This is a video I came across and it fixed my iphone 4s. When i did it, the heated part of my screen was going black and I freaked but when I put it into the refrigerator it came out fine. Sometimes the screen will not tell you it is overheating but I stopped when the phone was too hot too touch. I can't believed it worked for me. Just watch the video and follow the instructions. Be careful and not burn yourself and don't destroy your phone. Remember do at your own risk, but it worked for me. Best of luck.

********** UPDATE ***********

I have an older iPhone4 and had the same WiFi issue at work. After numerous attempt's on fixing the issue, I observed the following.

iPhone4 works fine @ home with Net gear router.

Does not work at work (Aruba AP's and Controller).

I work in the IT Dept so I have access to the WiFi network settings.

The WiFi setting were set as WPA2-PSK using AES encryption. I have to reduce it to WPA-PSK with TKIP and it started working. The iPhone 5S also works fine with this security setting.

Hope this helps anyone who has trouble connecting at work.

Seems like Apple messed up something with the AES encryption and forgot to test it thoroughly.

I have the same wifi & overheating problem with my iPhone 5 since doing the update on 16/7. Apple failed to fix it over the phone so I took it into a store today. They did a factory reset & told me to restore from my last back up. Guess what. Still not fixed. Wifi still dropping out and then taking an age to load anything when it is up. The guy I saw told me my phone may have had an issue before I did the update too. My phone is 14 months old so its out of warranty. They offered me a replacement for £229. I can't upgrade with 02 either as my contact doesn't renew untill March. 02 told me Apple are the only phone manufacturer to only offer a 12 month warranty. That's one thing. Buggaring up a perfectly fundtioning device with your own buggy update and taking no responsibility for it is another. Lesson learnt. Next phone won't be an iPhone.

I've had the same problem with an iPhone 4S I just updated to iOS 7.1.2, i bought it second hand from a friend of mine who had restored it with 7.1.1 and it worked fine at home, after I did the update it keeps connecting and disconnecting from my home Cisco router, the router has no problem handling my Macbook, my wife's laptop or both our Android mobile devices so there's not an issue there.

However i'm now testing the iPhone at work, where we have Apple's Airport Express routers and it seems to be working fine.

What gives Apple? You updated the OS so it only works with your hardware????

Please update the OS so it works with different router brands!

Same issue here. My daughter's iPhone 4s was having periodic connectivity problems that got worse and worse since installing 7.1.1. On August 1 (yesterday), the phone was unable to stay connected when it was able to find our wifi signal (most of the time, the phone was unable to detect wifi). I thought installing 7.1.2 might fix the problem, but it did not. In addition to my daughter's iPhone 4S, we have 4 iPod touches, 2 other iPhone 4Ss, and two iPads, each of which can connect. Interestingly, each iPhone has demonstrated connectivity issues, just not to the degree of my daughter's. I really don't want to restore to factory settings. All these posts cannot be a coincidence. It would be great if Apple would jump in here, acknowledge the issue, and tell us the fix is in development. My family is due for upgrades, and I'm researching other phone options. Apple hasn't been as reliable lately, and each new iOS has introduced new problems.
