Search Google from the URL bar in safari not working, Help...

Hi to everyone,

im stuck here trying to find out why i can't search more in the url bar in safari. Just happened few weeks ago and i most use bing or yahoo.

I did try to delete cache and plist etc, everything i read in the net but still not working. I have mac pro 2011, and I'm not sure but i think this happened after i open a second account for my girlfriend in my mac, so she can have her own account. I check and in the other account happen the same...some ideas?

Thanks a lot, this helped. Had the same problem on MacBook Pro OS X 10.11.3, Safari 9.0.3.

Strange, apparently there is a bug in Safari regarding the "Safari Suggestions".

BTW It seems to be enough to deselect 'Include Safari Suggestions' in the Search Preferences of Safari.

Worked a treat on my husband mac book.. he was just about to frisbee it down the garden.

Yup that worked for me too. Strange that I don't need to do that in my admin account though.

Judging from the number of posts this seems to be a new problem.
